I’ve been interested in BU for a while now, but my EFC is pretty low. My college counselor told me that BU doesn’t provide very good financial aid. Is this true? (for US citizen btw)

I disagree. It depends person to person. BU gave me the most financial aid. They base it on a mix of financial need and merit, so they will give you more based on your academic accomplishments in high school too.

BU FA seems pretty hit or miss. I got a great package, while my friends got horrible ones…

BU’s financial aid definitely depends on the person. They have kind of a sliding scale of financial need/merit, so that the better an applicant you are, the more likely it is they will meet all of your need.

For me, they met pretty much all my need, and were one of the best offers of all the schools I applied to. So I’d definitely apply, but have a backup.

You’ll never know until you apply. You may even be pleasantly surprised.
