UMich is only giving me about 5,000 for the fall term and the same for the winter term and I have to pay the out-of-state tuition, which totals up to about 50,000 a year. My family makes a little under 100,000 a year. Is there anyway i can get more financial aid? Is it even worth the cost?

Is it an estimate or final? I called the financial aid office yesterday regarding the same question. In my case, I called regarding their estimate they gave me, so they said that nothing is final as of yet. After I send in all my requested documents, then they’ll give me a final… It can go up or down.

If you are talking about the final aid package, in all honestly, start applying for scholarships! I have to do it too :(

Its final. I already sent the documents they requested.

I’m an out of state student too. I didn’t receive enough aid and I called to see if I can receive more aid…considering my parents recently split up and other schools offered me a lot more money. They said they cannot do an appeal unless the data in the CSS or FAFSA has changed…
Now I’m just trying to decide between being in deep debt for UMich or be comfortable at University of Richmond. It sucks because I love Umich.
