Financial Aid

If I'm financially really weak(as weak that my parents can't even pay a penny) but academically very strong, will 100% need meeting colleges provide me with 100% financial aid? Does it apply for the international students? It would be better if you provide with the names of some..

Thank You

Does it apply for the international students?]/quote]No. See Loading...; the list may be outdated. Are you an international student for US schools?

Thank you for your reply. Yes I’m an international student for US schools.

Um…most colleges have Need Blind admissions. This simply means that your finances are not considered when your application for admission is reviewed.

This student needs schools that meet full need for ALL international students.

Advert, are you currently a HS senior?

Yes, it is possible to get 100% of your expenses paid to go to a college here in the United States, but finding those schools that will do so is very difficult whether you are an international student or a US citizen/perm resident. Even those schools that guarantee to meet full need almost always require some student contribution right from the get go. On top of that , before you can gain any access to funds that cover travel, living expenses, books, etc, you have to get to the school and those funds do not usually clear until a few weeks into the term, so you have to come up with some seed money to get there. Yes, there are exceptions and those who are truly down and out, can appeal and maybe get transportation and other funds fronted for them but that is a rare thing, and not at all typical.

THough there are only a handful of schools that guarantee to be need blind in admissions AND guarantee to meet full need for international students, really most any school might give a full ride or two, or more to the right student. It’s finding those schools that will do that for you that will be an issue. Those few schools with the guarantees are the among the most difficult ones to which to gain entry. So those who absolutely need a full ride, have to shop carefull as to where to place their apps, and then it often comes down to a lot of luck as to what happens. Like playing the lottery.

If you are really strong academically, you may get very large merit aids at some schools disregarding your need or nationality although they are extremely competitive too.

There are a very small number of institutions that guarantee merit-based full tuition and full ride scholarships. Check each of the institutions on this list to see if their scholarship(s) are available to international students. http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/
