Financial Aid?

Has anyone heard yet? All I've gotten is a letter about a scholarship...without telling me how much it is for.

My friend lives down the street from me and received her package yesterday. I have nothing yet.

i got my yesterday...

twice what BC offered me.

go figure.

So far I've been sent zip. I know they mailed out the Presidential Scholarship decision for me Friday, so hopefully they come together.

I didn't feel out FAFSA or any other need-based forms, so does that make me ineligible for merit-based scholarships? Or are you automatically concerned, and then notified of those if you've been accepted?

I appreciate it.

i got my need-based stuff on monday but i haven't received anything for merit. my dad called and the lady said that they come in two different letters for some reason?

neeeevermind looks like i didn't qualify for merit :-) lol wooooops. anyway, my stuff came monday

Hm, what kind of numbers would you need to have to qualify for merit? And once again, do you have to apply for those scholarships or are you automatically considered?

I too am wondering weather you have to apply seperately for merit-based-aid.

You had to fill out a separate application to be considered for merit-based aid.

"Students wishing consideration for merit-based scholarships must file a SEPARATE scholarship application(s), in addition to the application for admission. Deadlines are as early as December 1 of the senior year. Contact us to receive paper applications by mail, or download now and print the scholarship applications.

Students submitting the Merit-Based Scholarships application by December 1 receive consideration for all academic-based scholarship programs, including the full-cost Reynolds and Carswell, as well as the Bradford, Caldwell, Gordon, Graylyn, Holding, Robinson, Wilson, and others. Students submitting the same application by January 1 receive consideration for all academic-based programs other than the Reynolds and Carswell.

Students submitting the Merit-Based Scholarships application by January 1, as well as the PROFILE application by February 1, also receive consideration for several competitive need-based scholarship programs, including the Junius C. and Eliza P. Brown, the George Foster Hankins, the Heritage, the K. Wayne Smith, and the Zachary T. Smith Leadership scholarships. Please refer to the instructions for need-based aid page."
