Financial Aid

My son was just accepted and was blessed to receive a very nice financial aid package. Merit scholarship plus a generous AU grant.
My question (which we will certainly discuss with the FA office but was looking for personal experience here) is… are people who have been enrolled finding the package to stay approximately the same year to year? My fear is that he enrolls and then for sophomore year and beyond the cost rises substantially. My husband is a self employed small business and my son’s financial awards from CSS profile schools have been all over the place.
Would love to hear from anyone familiar with the school and finaid. Thank you!

Parent of 2019 grad here. Our experience was that the aid package stayed exactly the same over the four years, which meant that as tuition and housing costs increased, the aid amount stayed flat, but at least it didn’t decrease. Also, there are strings attached to some of the merit scholarships, such as students have to complete 30 credits each year to stay eligible, and maintain a specified GPA in order to renew the scholarship for subsequent years.
