Penn State acts like they are totally broke. $ 7100 for out of state and 3000 of that is loan. I am willing to pay upwards of $14K per year from own money, but even with loans I am still short; and thats for Altoona, imagine UP

Son was accepted to PSU-Altoona and also UCF in engineering. With a EFC low but high savings UCF is giving him a free ride..

Future students should waste time with PSU. Spend time and effor applying somewhere else. OOS are not welcome, bright ones, dumb ones ,mediocre ones..stay away..lol

i got the 3,500 one too and so did two of my friends, I think it's just their out of state financial aid. I was really mad when I got it but I can definitely rule it out so it helped my decision.

Yea, after talking to another teacher her son got the same, as well as two of his friends. Todo esta bien, I got into my first choice so good luck everyone!

so you guys are saying that

it wouldn't be wise for an international , out of state with a spec saying that PSU is a safety to go to PSU, UP?

because the only reason why I would go to PSU is that I "thought" that it is pretty cheaper than other schools

It is a great school, just depends if money is an issue.
For most people, finaid is mostly loans, especially for OOS.
The honors kids get some scholarship $, and occasionally you will see a someone with a great package, usually a URM.
But no it is not cheaper than other schools.
Did you get your finaid package?

well I am asian with not Spectacular stat like other people on CC has posted above..

i just couldn't believe people with high GPA and really high SAT apply to PSU

wow lol

so no money for me but I am gonna call and ask ^^
