I keep hearing that PSU doesn't give that good of packages, but my family contribution was $0 so I was wondering will PSU keep that in consideration or will I be in deep debt?

if yo are in state you have some guaranteed money such as the PHEA grant, also you will be getting the Pell grant on the fed level. (7-8 grand total?). If your academics are good then you should be getting some smaller schoalrships from penn state and maybe your college as well. (1500-3000).

Out of state tuition is ridiculous. My sister was going to attend two years ago but money prevented that. We were not eligible for the federal pell grant and all Penn State offered her was a 1000 dollar a year scholarship and loans. Although Penn State is an awesome school, it wasn't worth the price. Especially since she had some good in state schools as options.

I'm absolutely adore Penn State, but I feel like I'll be in the same situation as she is. I really do I hope I get SOME money from them. UGHH

Does anyone know when we get our aid packages?

I emailed the OSA and they said they we should receive our SAR's this week if not next week (provided that you applied before February 15th).

I did my FAFSA and everything before the deadline, but I just got an e-mail from PSU last week saying they'd received my FAFSA...is this normal? I feel like that's very late considering I'd gotten everything done over a month beforehand...

everyone got that email around that time, regardless of when you sent in the FAFSA :)
