Financial Aid

I have already recieved my financial aid packet from SLU but i still need more money. Does anyone know if there will be more money coming or if i can talk to someone at the school about getting more?

Were you a Presidential Scholar? And when did you receive your FA packet?

like 2-3 weeks ago. But i dont know if im a presidential scholar yet or if i have to wait a little longer?

We just got our packet a couple of days ago. Only additional to the original scholarship was loans and work study. I can’t complain, though, because we wound up not being able to attend the presidential scholar weekend. Neither could another boy at our school who was equally or probably more qualified than my son. Hope he fares better than us on the award department. My niece also received the same initial scholarship from SLU and is really hoping to attend there. Praying that she gets a good award letter and is able to attend.

My DD was a Pres. Scholar finalist but didnt get the award. She was given 3K more merit for attending the weekend but that was it :frowning: She committed to Tulane last night with a full tuition scholarship. Good luck to all still wishing to attend SLU>

Is there any general range on scholarships based on ACT score and decent grades/stats?
~~I know several students in the past who got $10,000 a year merit scholarship with a 29 ACT
~~I know one student got $12,000 merit scholarship with a 32 ACT

I am wondering if those general merit award ranges are the norm for CC members? All the above students had several extra-curriculars.

I know a junior who got at 27 on the February ACT (will re-take) and the parents were wondering what the general merit range would be. Any input? The middle 50% of ACT score ranges are 24-30 at SLU and the university is at the top of this student’s list of schools but the parents cannot pay full ride.

Thanks!
