Financial Award Letter

I have a question regarding the financial award letter.

When we apply to colleges and once we are accepted, the colleges send us information regarding the financial aid letter. However, it is considered unofficial.

Is the unofficial financial award letter basically what we would have as an official? Is it possible the school will add additional expenses or scholarships later on to the letter?

Yes, it does get slightly altered sometimes after the dust settles.

The unofficial award letter is unofficial because it is an estimate and it can change.

As far as scholarships being added: highly unlikely. Most UC’s will send you acceptance with regents scholarships/other scholarships.

Don’t hope to have just a random 2k scholarship added to your award letter, as it will most likely not happen.
