So I got my unofficial financial aid from UCSB and I was surprised by how good it was. However, much of the financial aid is in "Possible Cal Grant Eligibility" and "federal pell grant". The only thing I filled out was the FAFSA. Are these different things? Am I not eligible for those two areas above since all I filled out was the FAFSA?

You’re eligible for a cal grant if you filed your FAFSA and your CC submitted your GPA online to the California Student Aid Commission, which they most likely did.

In regards to unofficial financial aid accuracy, it’s usually pretty good from what I’ve read.

I just made a cal grant account and checked my status and it said they had my received my FAFSA and GPA verification. #:-S whew! Thanks for the reply Cayton, my CC did submit it.

No problem. As I always say, we transfer students need to look out for each other during the application and admission processes. :)

Since you’ve verified that your GPA was submitted by your school and thus have completed your cal grant application, I can say with certainty(Well, some anyway) that your official financial aid letter shouldn’t differ too much from the unofficial estimate that UCSB made and that the other UCs will make.

It’s great that you’ll get a lot of financial aid!
