Did anyone get their awards letter yet? They were supposed to have been sent out on 3/31.

i haven't received mine yet either :(
they better get on it though because whether or not i get an award kind of determines whether rhodes is even an option for me....

If you have your acceptance letter you can use your password and PIN listed in the letter and log onto the Rhodes Bannerweb. From there you can access the FA section and it should sow your award package.

This worked for me with our S and D. Give it a try!

Would the financial aid award section online in the banner web include merit information? All that was indicated on my daughter's award information was the $3500 stafford loan, but this was no surprise.

My D's acceptance letter has a password but the letter says the PIN will be provided on the financial aid letter. I'm puzzled/worried. She hasn't received anything through snail mail yet.

shyparentalunit: my D applied to Rhodes back in October. Rhodes sent us a letter in Oct. verifying they'd received her application. On THAT letter, (verifying application receipt) they assigned her a Rhodes ID and a PIN number. If you can find the letter I just mentioned, possibly you will have the numbers you need to log in to bannerweb. I have been using those numbers, and they work... Like you, we received her ACCEPTANCE letter and it only shows her Rhodes ID, no PIN number. So I went back to that original, October letter and found her PIN number.

I haven't received financial aid/merit schol. letter yet either, but I logged into bannerweb and also got my merit and fin. aid information and also loan info. Very relieved! Still waiting on the letter, though.... they did say they mailed them on March 31. I usually receive mail from Memphis within 2 days, so maybe maybe we'll get it today.

My S is having trouble locating the application receipt. He applied regular decision.

Can I assume that all Regular Decision applicants were sent an acknowledgement of application receipt?

Would it have come via regular mail or email?

CanyonCreek, two years ago it was snail mail.

For those who need their UserId and PIN:

1) UserId is on your Rhodes acceptance letter.
2) PIN number is supposed to be on your Application Receipt letter. (We can't find ours.)

If you cannot locate your UserId and/or PIN, you can call the Admissions Office -- the number for this is on Rhodes' Banner Web site ( https://banweb.rhodes.edu/ )

(NOTE: Prospective Students should call the Admissions Office, NOT the ITS Helpdesk.)

Hope you all found your PIN numbers... if I hadn't found my application receipt letter, I wouldn't have mine, either. Hopefully, you can call admissions office to get PIN (thanks CanyonCreek).

I'm just following my earlier post to let everyone know that even though I felt a little like we were cheating(!) by looking at bannerweb ahead of our receipt of the merit/fin.aid letter, the information on bannerweb was confirmed via snail mail today... so if you can get your PIN, you should check bannerweb if you still haven't gotten a letter.

Hopefully, everyone will get their letters today like we did! Good luck!

also... my D applied Regular Decision as well (even though it was back in October)...

My S called Admissions and got his PIN.

His award was exactly what we had projected. (That's a good thing.)

We're sorting through the offers now.

Good luck to everyone else!!

Does anyone have Cost of Attendance numbers for Rhodes, for the 2008-09 school year? S says he cannot find them on Banner Web, and the numbers on Rhodes web site are for last year.
the cost of tuition, activity fee, room, board and books for the 2008-09 year is estimated at 41,308.00
from the fin. aid letter. Unfortunately, it does not break the numbers down by tuition, room and board, etc.

I keep answering my own questions --

I spoke with Financial Aid and these are the numbers for 2008-09:

Tuition $(32,136)
Fees $(310)
Room and Board $(7,842)
Books and Supplies $(1,000)

For personal/transportation, we're estimating $2000/year. We only live 4 hours away.

sorry prankityclankity, I must have been writing when you posted.

I am glad the Bannerweb idea has worked for some students/families. It shows the total cost of attendance as 43,K plus on both of our kids pages. Award letters came in the mail today that confirmed what was on their individual web pages. The Total COA is exactly what Furman lists for the upcoming year-I thought that was kind of interesting since Furman is a larger school.

How many families/kids are planning on attending Accepted Student Day?

Yippee! D got a very nice merit award, so she's on her way to Rhodes! My understanding is that Rhodes did have some post office problems with the mailing and some letters are having to be mailed again, so don't panic if you haven't received a letter yet.

Congratulations shyparentalunit!

We are working out some details of the financial sources, but hope that our S will be at Rhodes this fall also.

Congratulations to all acceptees and soon to be enrollees, and for those still waiting some news- good luck.
