It seems like this is telling me that I'll be in a Hayden Triple, but since the official housing decisions don't go out until the beginning of next month I don't feel very certain. What do you think? Is this a placeholder or will this be where I live? What do your "Current Activity" pages say? My final question: I did not request a low-cost triple-- is there any chance I'd be placed in one anyway? Also, anyone knows where I could get more information about Hayden triples, let me know (I've checked the housing wiki). Thanks a bunch!

those who got got explorations or triples will know now through the current activities page, and yeah nyu has a bad habit of placing people into triples who didn't request it

i just checked my current activity...and it has "Hsg Fall 14 Meal Plan" listed. I put down UHall and Third North as my top two, so does this mean I didn't get placed into an apartment style dorm?? This really blows, i did NOT want a traditional dorm OMG.

The current activity page is correct as far as your dorm goes.

Just a warning though, if your current activity page doesn't change by the beginning of August, it may be that you were put into an upperclass dorm. I know that happened to me last year; I was put into Lafayette.

Yeah, I checked it out on the NYU housing price chart and it does seem as though my bill amount matches with an LCT. So, what are the Hayden LCTs like? Are they as terribly cramped as I am made to believe? I guess I don't mind to much, but I hope I'm not taking a LCT spot from someone who needed it more than I do. Oh well.

Mine says "estimated cost $6030" (but there was a $1000 deposit I think as well...no indication of room size, but the "estimated" price is WAY under the listed price for a Hayden double (my first choice and I'm ED) or U-Hall. Is it just for the semester maybe I should double it?

What does anyone elses say...and what did they request? Sounds like good news if It DOESN"t say "triple" under current activity.

DO you think the kids that got placed in triples against their preference tend to be regular decision kids...or do they d*ck kids over accross the board?

The $6030 is per semester, and it's just an estimated amount - everyone who doesn't know their dorm yet has the same price. I'm also ed and put hayden, and my albert says the same thing. We'll just have to wait till august 1.

Yeah I'll definitely look on the bright side: I'm in French Explorations and a well-liked dorm, AND saving lots of money :) Like I said before though, I'd feel bad if I was taking a spot that someone more deserving wanted, but that would have been a serious error on NYU's part so I don't think they'd let that happen. I just hope my roommates are optimistic about a small space haha.

Remember that the figure that is on your bursar's activity account page is for ONE SEMESTER, so $6K would be in the range for UHall, for sure.

However, also understand that these are estimations, apparently, and that trying to suss out which dorm you have been assigned (unless you did Explorations) is a waste of time. Or so we have been told. :)

I stayed in the French House last year Jaq! You'll like it...lots of free events (among my favorites cheese tasting and seeing Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway haha), and stuff like that. Your room is not too too bad...it's one of the few NYU rooms with a bunk, though. If you want, I can send a picture of it to you via e-mail or something.

I check my nyu mail today. And I got into Hayden, The NYU Show Exploration. Mail was sent yesterday (11th July). So, i guess if you have applied for explorations, then you can check your mail.

Has anyone who did not apply for the explorations or special floors and is not ED found out his or her dorm? My D was RD but asked to room with an ED student, and found out she is in Third North today. She and her requested roommate (whose bursar's current activity page also shows Third North) are trying to suss out the chances that they are, in fact, assigned as roommates. If most RD/non explorations kids don't know their dorm assignments yet, it probably means that they are roomies.

I got in ED, and so far no news under my e-mail account, and the bursars current activity page is blank (probably cause they have the preliminary tuition bill up for the first time) Not momma...are these kids explorations kids and how exactly were they notified of specific dorm?

salem1 - my D was accepted ED as well, and when she checked the current Bursars activity page on I think it was Thu., she saw the housing deposit posted along with the name of the dorm she requested (in her case U-Hall). She sent in her housing form the day it became available though; not sure if that has anything to do with it, but she did not apply for explorations. Hope that helps.
