Finding quality northside apartments?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone had any tips for finding a good apartment, particularly on the north side of campus? It seems like everything on Craigslist is either in the far northwest or southwest corner of campus which is far from everything, whereas I would prefer a place nearer to the engineering buildings (Soda, cory, evans) ... is it mostly word-of-mouth or is there a way to search for places?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated ^_^ Thanks!

Anyone? :/

you could always take the bus to those buildings

I feel like apartment hunting around campus is mostly a process of luck. I’m currently living in my 2nd apartment, which was a great find (right across campus on Northside and $950/mo. for a single studio which is pretty big for the price). I didn’t even know I would get this place; the call came from out of the blue. Back when I was apt. hunting in '09, I made every effort I could to look at the surrounding apts and fax in applications. You can only do so much but then you have limits like competition and money. The only advice I can give is to check Craigslist relentlessly (unless you want to pay more for the managed apts. and a peace of mind). There’s no magic bullet to getting the perfect Northside apt. unless you’re willing to pay a lot.

how much does a single usu. cost?

bump for sheer necessity
