I'm in my Junior year and sadly I have not done anything I'm passionate about. I haven't really had the opportunity to try many things because my parents have tight schedules and can't give me rides often. I'm hoping to change this next month when I get a car because I will be able to take myself places. However, I'm not really sure what kinds of things I would like to do. I love music, especially singing and I also love young children, but that's about it. Does anyone have any advice for me?

If you like music and singing, you should think about trying out for your HS musicals. Even if you don't get a major role, you may find a place for yourself in the chorus or on the stage crew.

If you really like young children, there will be a daycare center or pre-school or after school program that would love you as a volunteer. Not to mention that this could lead to a part-time paying job!

Don't worry so much about "passion" just yet. Do a few things that are interesting to you for two or three months and see whether your interest grows or fades.

If you are in chorus at school then highlight that in your application. Join any extracurricular school choirs if you really want to. However, if you are passionate about music, then that is enough, and you shouldn't need extracurriculars to prove it. For activities just say singing and maybe detail why?

What about working at your elementary school's after-school program? I know in my system, classes are offered in all sorts of things, from line dancing to dodgeball. Maybe there's a similar program near you involved with music.

For instance, my passion is dancing, and I've known that since I was about 5. Aside from my dedication to it through classes & competitions, I "amped" it up for college resumes & whatnot by teaching young students at my studio, which I've been at for 12 years, ballet after school.

Stop loving young children!

^ Lmao, that is horrible.
