How easy is it to find your place at NYU? It's such a big school in such a big city. Do people often find themselves lonely? If you're not the best at making new friends, but still are a social person, is it easy to "make it" at NYU?

Also, how's the party scene? I understand that Greek life is minimal, and parties get shut down quick and often. Is it true?

you’ll fall into your group of friends soon enough…atleast by first semester i think
you’ll find people you like mostly through ur dorm floor and classes not much through anything else - every1 is on a new boat when they get to college…nobody knows any1 and every1 wants to find new friends so its very easy.

There are lots of clubs and the dorms host community building events and activities. Get involved and you will find your tribe. My D was in the same boat as you 4 years ago and she is now graduating in 2 weeks. Her best friends that will be around for life were found exactly that way, at NYU. The first semester is a challenge, but everyone you meet that are freshman are in the same boat as you, eager to find their tribes and trying to fit in. Hang in there, it will happen.
