Finished 60 units early, take last semester off?

Hey guys, I was just wondering, I have been working my butt off in ccc and I will actually have 60 units at the end of the fall term leaving a whole semester open. I was wondering what would colleges think if I took a semester off maybe for travel. If I am applying for the fall do I have to take classes in the spring? Should I maybe get an associates degree? I really want to travel but would schools see me not taking classes that spring and then not accept me? Any thoughts would be nice.

I had a similar situation … take the semester it helps your chances … unless its an emergency or work or something … it sounds like you just want to play cause you finished early … would that look better than someone finishing early and continuing to work rather than looking for a bare minimum ?

Yet in the same stance would it be better to see someone who decided to leave their comfort zone and to experience the world? To grow socially and to experience a different culture? I am not looking to “play” but to gather an experience. Yet if there was no way to convey that to colleges then I would look into different alternatives like more schooling.

IMO, taking a semester off isn’t going to have a drastic affect on your admissions chance. Many people take a semester off for various reasons: working/volunteering at home or abroad, or an emergency arises in which school is not possible.

If you’ve already met all the pre-reqs for where your target school and feel like taking a semester off, go ahead. Just make sure it’s time well spent; and if required, you can explain it in your application.
