My freshmen year wasn’t bad 3.4-3.5. Sophomore year because I took an honors Chem class getting a C on both semesters and an advanced history/English (paideia) class brought my GPA a little lower. Although I played basketball/volleyball with 3 extracurriculars that year, do I still have a have chance to get it to a 3.5-3.6 by the end of high school or even junior year if I wear to take more AP’s I signed up for 1 honors and 3-4 AP’s? Any advice. And I’m a California resident and I would like to possibly get into any UC UCI UCSB UCD UCSD or even Cal Poly. My hopes are too high…
UC’s have their own GPA calculation and will give you 8 extra honors points for UC approved Honors AP/IB or DE courses in 10-11th grade. The average UC GPA for all the schools listed is 4.0+, so you need to get studying and work hard on getting A’s Junior year. Your chances will also depend upon your choice of major, your SAT/ACT test scores, HS course rigor, EC’s and essays. There is no way to tell what will happen at this point, so at the end of Junior year, calculate your UC GPA:

Repost when you have all your stats and then you can be properly chanced.
BTW: Cal Poly SLO uses 9th-11th grades in their GPA calculation vs. UC’s which use 10-11th grades only.
Since you are a California resident, you have so many college choices in-state and you should find schools that fit your stats. You might also want to explore some OOS schools and the WUE will give you discounted OOS tuition, so take a look.
