Finishing Prerequisites

Hey all, I'm a transfer student from Pierce College looking to apply to UCLA for 2011. I just recently changed my major from psychology to philosophy so right now I have to complete all the prerequisite classes for philosophy. (and I already have my IGETC finished)

Right now, I'm enrolled in three philosophy classes for this fall semester but I'm considering taking a fourth so I need your opinions on how UCLA sees applicants and accepts them. Do I still have just as much chance as someone who has all their requirements done at the end of Fall 2010 if I take my last prerequisite class during Spring 2010?

Reason being, I don't want to make it seem like I'm stacking philosophy classes this semester and it would be easier to concentrate solely on that class (ethics) in the spring. But, like many of you I don't want to hinder my chances at all. So, how serious is UCLA about finishing prerequisites while they are in the process of reviewing your application? Please let me know your opinions or experiences, thanks!

I’d say take at least 2 of the 4 by Fall…3 is even better. It would be better to get A’s in 3 classes than getting a few B’s with 4 classes. Keep you GPA above a 3.5

I have intro (A) and symbolic logic(A) already done. this fall i’ll be taking history of modern european philosophy, logic, and society values. As of right now I have a strong 3.6 GPA and I plan on keeping it that way. Should I take ethics this semester too or do you think i’ll be fine taking it during Spring?

Please chance me if you’re reading, thanks!
