UCLA hopeful transfer (chance me)

I am a community college student in a California community college hoping to go to UCLA next year. I have a 3.92 GPA with a 4.0 major GPA and a few honor classes. What do you guys think the chances are of getting in? (I’m a philosophy major)

That’s a good GPA but more importantly have you finished pre reqs

From what I understand, full prereq completion is very hard for Philosophy majors when applying to UCLA. There is one prereq that is very hard to complete cuz only a few CCs in the country offer it. My friend who applied this year for the same major has been very proactive in talking to admissions counselors/experts and he told me that if you don’t have all the prereqs done, it’s best for you to take as many transferrable philosophy classes as you can to demonstrate interest in your major. UCLA usually requires students to take prereqs not articulated at their school by finding a school that offers it, but from what i’ve been told phil. is one of the few exceptions where they let it go due to the scarcity of qualified schools for that one prereq (I forgot the name of the course). Depending on the situation of course.

But other than that the average GPA for phil. last year wasn’t very high, you’re above 75th percentile, and it’s a non-impacted major. So if you have IGETC done and all the prereqs that you can take completed, you definitely have a very good chance.

I have finished every prerequisite that assist.org asks from my cc

@lupe98 Dude I’d say you’re looking really good then. You’re probably one of the best candidates for the major academically. Idk for sure tho, problem with doing these types of predictions on CC is we have limited information. I wouldn’t worry myself too much in your case, but at the same time there’s no such thing as a guaranteed admission to UCLA

I would be surprised if you didn’t get in.
