I am a senior DA to Kelley. I'd like to get a course out of the way over the summer. Right now I'm self-studying for the two AP Econ exams, and over the summer I'd like to take either finite or calculus. Do you have any recommendations of which to take and where to take it? Has anyone tried Finite through IvyTech? I'm out of state, but it seems like the easiest option. Thanks for your help!

Good for you. Please review the following link. It is still applicable in general. W131 is another one you can consider if you do not have AP credits for that. Finite in Ivytech can be found in the 2nd link.

Thank you! I have AP Lit credit to cover W131. Does Finite seem to be the logical decision instead of Calc for the summer?

I don’t know if there is a preference. You can search for discussions. You can certainly take both this summer or one during each of next two summers. Please note that you can only take two on-line courses.

I’d say it depends on your math background. M119 can be easy for students who have already taken a calculus course. M119 also has the advantage strong students testing out of it, which decreases the competition.

i consider myself to be pretty good at math but i found myself having a pretty rough time in finite. i understood the homework very well but the tests were extremely difficult and tricky in my opinion. I filled up a 5 subject notebook, and 2 single subject notebooks with practice problems ect. and only got a B in the class. you should take finite over the summer.
