First college visit is at Oberlin! What should I expect/look for?

I am currently a sophomore, and my first visits are in late May to Oberlin and Case Western. I am very excited, but before I go I want to plan what I should look for while on my tour. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, if you are an Oberlin student, what scores did you receive on your standardized tests? What seems to be the average at Oberlin? Thanks!

Awesome! If you can, definitely stay overnight (although if you’re visiting in late May the semester will probably already be over and students will have gone home.) Otherwise, make sure that you take a guided tour, visit the professors in the department(s) you’re most interested in, eat in the dining halls, check out the residential offerings, and visit the town itself! I’m sure that once you get on campus plenty of people will be glad to help you see your way around. Make sure to leave ample time for free exploration as well!

As far as test scores go, this link ([Oberlin College | Office of the Registrar | Scores & Credit](http://new.oberlin.edu/office/registrar/ap-ib-credit/chart.dot)) lists an ACT median range of 28-32 and a SAT median range of 1960-2210. For what it’s worth, I got in with a 2200 and a 31, but I think that the “soft” factors weigh a bit more with Oberlin than they do with other schools.

Good luck and I hope that you enjoy your visit!

Thanks! I really look forward to visiting. One of my dream schools.
