How early should I get to class for the first day and the rest of the semester? Should I read the syllabus online before attending class or do they get handed out the first day? Also, are there any classes worth buying the textbook for so I can highlight and write in the book, like a hard science class?
Also curious.
Just a few minutes early is good enough, unless you have preferred seats and don’t want to get stuck in the back or more likely the front row.
Professors are expecting you to purchase or borrow the required texts. Were you not planning on doing this or was your question about the importance of having a hard copy versus reading an online version? Sometimes the required text is put on two hour reserve at the library so you could check it out for a short time but the problem is that the students who do this all try to check it out at the same time.
Is there a problem with being stuck in the front row? I have a poor attention span and bad vision so that’s where I was planning to sit for all my classes :S
No, that is a good place to sit.
Thanks. Yes, I meant having my own hard copy. I’m planning on renting my textbooks but I’m taking chemistry and am considering buying the book for myself, even though I’ve heard science textbooks are some of the most expensive.
