First post: chance me please

I'm just starting to put together my top ten list for colleges but this is what I have so far:

Boston University
Haverford
Kenyon
U Chicago
Lafayette
Hamilton
Hampshire
Whitman

I feel like most of them are a bit reach-y, though.

GPA (UW): 3.6

SAT I scores
730 Reading
650 Math
670 Writing
SAT II scores
720 Biology E
730 Spanish
770 U.S. History

AP classes upon graduation
AP Bio (4 on ap test)
AP US History (5 on ap test)
AP Spanish
AP Calc AB
AP English

I don't have a whole lot of extracurriculars except for journalism.
I started out as a reporter last year and this year I'm both news editor and business manager for the paper.

I'm from California looking to be preferably out of state. I know for sure I'll be able to get whatever financial aid I need. I'm looking for a good medium-sizes liberal arts place in an urban setting.

Yay. Thanks!

Your GPA is just a wee bit on the low side, but your 2050 SAT is really good. UChicago is probably a rejection outright, but you have a good chance at the rest of your list. None of them are real safeties though, so you might want to consider adding one. You probably have nothing to worry about so long as you apply to that many schools, but it would be safer to do it just in case.

Thanks! That’s what I thought. Any schools you recommend I look at?

You’ll get in to Boston university.

:D I hope so because I really am attracted to city life and all the resources there. But I worry about financial aid…
