First Post Please Help!

<p>Hi, I've always looked through the site but never actually registered. Now that I have, could one of you please help me with my chances at UIUC? </p>

<p>I'm applying OOS from a magnet high school in new jersey.</p>

<p>Major: LAS - Economics
GPA: 3.7 UW
SAT: 1850 (It's horrible, I plan to retake them in October)
I have a boatload of EC's and college credit. My school doesn't rank so i'm not sure how that will work.</p>

<p>My question is, do i have a better chance to apply say, mid to late September and cross my fingers or retake the october sat's and see from there? </p>

<p>First of all, the middle 50% stats of admitted students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Fall 2005 are 1200-1390 old SAT and 81%-95% class rank. Since your 1850 scales to about a 1230 on the old scale, you need to bump that up to at least a 2000 or so, because your unweighted GPA is pretty low too. Also, out-of-state applicants are treated the same as in-state.</p>
