Hey Guys,
I just did my first prep ACT with a score of 28…
I’m wondering how much people usually improve once they start preparing?
I’m planning to take the ACT in June 2016, is a 34 possible?
Depends. If you felt that not finishing sections or not understanding certain types of questions may have caused you to lose a considerable amount of points, then you can get a 34. If you felt that you finished all the sections in time and understood the question types, then getting a 31 should be your goal.
How did you feel about each section?
Any score is possible if you prep the right way, give yourself enough time, and prep consistently. I’ve seen kids improve by 2-3 points with as little as 2 weeks of focused study. That being said, you probably should allow for 2-3 months to prep for your test. This gives you enough time to study, review, take the test and review some more. The more you can spread it out, and the more consistently you can study each day, the better you’ll do. Extended time also accounts for days you may not be able to study. Just make sure you are studying consistently and focusing on your weakest subjects. Rather than spending time on problems you already get right, focus on the ones you get wrong to help bring up your scores. But the most basic answer: 6 points is very doable. I’ve seen a program with an AVERAGE score improvement of almost 5 points, so getting one more point than that means you’ll just need to work about 20% harder than average.
Yep. Just practice as much as you can.
Yes, that is very possible! You are starting with a very strong foundation and you have plenty of time.
Good for you for starting early.
