First Quarter Problems Fall 2014

Okay so just looking through GOLD (UCSB's registration site) and all the classes I want/need are already full wtf, I worked my ass off and now I'm transferring and in my first quarter there it's not such an easy transition. And the quarter doesn't even start til October!

Is this accurate? Or is it only saying full because I'm not a full major yet? (Will be by mid to late August once submitting summer transcripts) is this how it is for all UC's? I appreciate any help I can get.

Hope your summer is going awesome guys!

Welcome to transferring to a UC. Have a seat over there, right next to all the other transfers who are also trying to enroll into a schedule that is mostly full.

Hey @Matt4200‌

Have you had your orientation yet? Most classes look full online but they should have reserved spots for transfers. In my experience with registering for classes at Cal, it was pointless to bring a prepared schedule of the classes I wanted to take because the only reserved spots were in completely different classes. In the end though, I managed to get a good schedule with classes I needed for my major.

If you’re not in the full major yet, does that mean you have to take lower division your first quarter?

@k4201505‌ - I was asking if it was essentially the same for transfers to other UC’s as well, which judging from your response it is.

@ocnative‌ - Orientation is mid-August for me hopefully they have some reserved seats for the students attending.

I just finished my summer course on Thursday and I’m going to my CC tomorrow to have them send over my transcripts for summer. After they do that I will have completed all pre-major requirements and should be able to go into the full major with upper division coursework.
