I’m an incoming freshman and my orientation is in 2 weeks and I wanted to ask a few questions about a possible schedule.

So far I’m sure I want to try to take the following 3 classes:

CHE 2A OR BIS2A
Math 17A
ENG 10 (The Science Behind The Technology of our Lives… FOR FUN!)

should I take a 4th class, and if so, what? if not, is this enough? it seems like so little!

That’s a decent amount of units for your first quarter, but it’s always good to aim for 14/15 units. So, if you were to add on a 4th, go for a 2 or 3 unit class. That way, the workload won’t be too demanding and you can focus prereqs and whatnot. Also, since your desired schedule seems a little heavy with science and math, maybe consider taking a course more focused on reading and writing involved, like a social science or an arts and humanities class.

Just make sure that when choosing classes, try to maintain a balance with the subjects because taking a lot of science/math-related courses or a lot of writing-related courses can be stressful.

Hope this info is helpful, and good luck!
