first quarter senior grades

is it okay for me to send my first quarter senior grades myself, since I have them, rather let my guidance counselor do it? wouldn't it be easier and faster because it takes time for them to actually mail it. and is it okay if the schools get my senior grades after their deadline?
if i do send it myself, do i use my school's envelope, or my own envelope, addressed from my own address?
thanks for any help.

Your colleges want official records. Let you GC or whomever is responsible for sending records do their jobs. If you’re worried that they may have forgotten, remind them of the deadlines.

i have the official records, which is my report card that shows my quarter grades. does it matter if i send it, instead of my counselor?

They will want to get it sent from the school. They have no idea if a student “created” a report card.

BTW…doesn’t your college want your mid-year report? Which would be the 1st semester’s grades.

Colleges don’t penalize students if their high schools are late in sending records.

all of my colleges say they want, “quarter” or “first term” grades. but i don’t think they’ll know if i send them myself because i’m using my school’s letters.

…why precisely do you have access to materials which allow you to (fraudulently) claim to represent your school?

this is starting to smell fishy. It sounds like the OP doesn’t want the school to send the mid-year report.

I don’t know what his colleges want, but I think a mid-year report is more than just a copy of a report card.

it’s not a mid-year report. they want my quarter grades. one of my colleges wanted them before, so i asked my counselor. she said to give her my report card, which has my quarter grades on them, so that she can send them. now i have several more colleges who need my quarter grades, which are on my report card. i’m asking if i can send that myself, or do i really need to give in copies of my report card to my counselor to send.

I can’t believe that your counselor needs to see your report card.

She has access to your grade report for this school year. But, if she’s lazy or whatever, just give her your report card and have her make copies.

Yes, you really need to have your counselor send them. The fact that your report card is an official record isn’t an intrinsic quality of the paper, it’s in the fact that your school sent it to you. If you mail a report card to colleges, that’s not going to count as an official report.

when i asked my counselor, she said that she doesn’t have access to my quarter grades, and she wanted me to give her my report card so that she can make copies of it to send. i gave her my report card, she made copies, and sent it to the colleges who wanted my quarter grades. now i have some more colleges who want to see my quarter grades, and i don’t see the difference in me sending them myself (because i have access to them via my report card) vs. giving them to my counselor to make more copies to send. it sounds complicated, but it’s really not. can you guys tell me the difference in me sending them vs. my counselor sending them because we’re both making copies and sending the same thing anyway.

The school will be happier if they get a grade report from your counselor because they see it as more legitimate and I doubt they’d even accept a mid-year report from a student.

yeah, but that’s the question. how would they know if i send it instead?

I find it extremely hard to believe that your GC doesn’t have access to your quarter grades.

This whole thing sounds very fishy.

Just do it yourself.

Make sure to leave your name, address and social security number.

You know, so they can arrest you for fraud.
Do it. Impersonate the school illegally. Felony is awesome.

Don’t be an idiot, David. Don’t do it. You WILL be caught, and then you will be in MUCH more trouble than whatever it is you are now trying to hide.

No she doesn’t have access to them, that’s why she asked me to give her a copy of my quarter grades to make copies from. but i’m still wondering what the difference is in me just sending them myself. when my school sends it, do they put some kind of seal on it?

i’m not trying to hide anything btw, if that’s what you all think. i just want to send them myself because i don’t trust them to do it. deadline’s are fast approaching and i just want to get over it myself.
