First rejection of USC

LMU social scene is supposed to be very good. They actually have a van that will take students out to various spots in LA. Pretty diverse I think, I'm told professors that really will know your name and care about you. Small class sizes - 20 - 30 tops. Dorms are like palaces some with views of the ocean. I've visited so I can attest to that. Students are huge fans of the basketball team (there's no football)

Pepperdine - socially dead - no one there on weekends, they have to bribe people to go to sporting events. NOt much to do even in Malibu

Serendipity?

Although you may be extremely disappointed right now with not being accepted, rest assured that you will look back on this and say it was the best thing that ever happened to you. It will depend on how you choose to look at life.

Think for a moment how this will change your life’s direction. You will go on to a college, (even one you thought you wouldn’t choose), and you will find new friends that you never would have met if you had gone to USC. You may even find your future spouse or a great new best friend. You will look back on this day and say to yourself, that had it not been for that rejection, all the wonderful things that are happening to you would not have occurred.

For others, rejection will light the fire for you to work harder to get transferred or you will decide that you are happier where you ended up after all.

As you get older, you will realize that setbacks will always happen and it is how you make those disappointments work in your favor that will make you a stronger person. You will learn that as low as you may feel now, inevitably, this will turn around and you will find excitement for your new school.

College acceptances are always somewhat of a crapshoot; rejection or acceptance doesn’t define you. I believe that the posters, in particular this SC forum, will go on to be successful, wherever they choose to go.

As a parent, we hoped you would all get admitted, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I wish you all the best and hope that in the future you will eventually agree that it was the best thing that ever happened to you.

i also got a rejection today
