I recently got all As this semester (senior) and I know it will bring my ranking up a lot as well as my GPA, but the transcripts aren't updated/finalized at my school until a week or so into the second semester, well after the Jan. 1 deadline for many colleges I'm applying to. Do I still have to send in my current transcript and report on the common app my rank/GPA? Will the college still receive my transcript before a decision is made? Thanks.

bump

Assuming your a domestic, not international student, your GC should know the answer to this. Again, assuming an RD school, the decision will not be made until March, so there is plenty of time to send the 1st semester transcript. Your paperwork is due Jan. 1, things like transcripts the schools expect will take a bit longer, until 1st semester is done.

@MrMom62 Yeah I am domestic. Unfortunately my GC is on vacation until Jan. 5th and “isn’t receiving emails”… But okay, that sounds reasonable

Some of the schools I applied to are requesting a “mid-year” report, which I assume is my first semester transcript. Your GC or someone at your school will probably be able to update the school with the latest transcript.

To piggyback off of @MrMom62, the formal application and the transcripts are typically not sent together. In my experience, transcripts aren’t considered the “paperwork” that’s due by the deadline. So, when your transcripts are sent they should include your Fall semester grades. Best of luck!
