I am a current high school sophomore, and I would like to enter the awards for the first time (for visual arts). I am in Rhode island for the local division and I'm a bit confused about how many entries I can submit... It says somewhere something about 2 entries per student, but I've been reading some forums and they talk about winning 5+ keys (indicating 5+ entries) and I'm really really confused, please help! I would be entering on my own- not through my school (i discovered the awards online one day). I have a drawing I really want to enter, but could i also enter a painting? How many in each category? I am aware of the fees but they are not really an issue for me. Also, if i enter in multiple art categories, could I also enter in a writing category (i also enjoy writing poetry and have won a very, very small award for it). I am really confused so I would love info from past winners/contestants/parents of such.

I don’t think this forum is the place to get your answer, since this isn’t a scholarship program unless you’re a senior. The website ( artandwriting.org) explains how get more info.

don’t worry so much - if you’ve got enough work to submit in multiple categories that is a good thing. Read the guidelines on the artandwriting.org website, and then just start submitting. Don’t wait until the last minute on the last day - the site crashes!
