Has anyone received the email notifying them of the FYHP at UC Santa Cruz? It’s my top choice and I really want to get into the program!

Just looked at a thread from last year and it seems the emails went out the last friday in Feb. last year. Maybe next Friday?
I’m currently in the FYHP and your stats are on par with getting it. That being said, acceptances to FYHP seem kind of random, and I know people with better GPA/test scores than me who weren’t invited.
UCSC just updated the honors program page. Apparently it’s being renamed the UCSC Scholars Program and will continue into the second year. Details to be released later. Maybe they’ll start invites soon now???

I put in my application as a final comment that I would really like being in an honors program. Could that potentially help my application?

I’m starting to think they’re just going to tell you at admissions time like they did in 2013 Kind of defeats the purpose of boosting yield, though.
My D received an email tonight that decisions will be on the portal March 15th.

@HopefulCASenior My son was accepted, but we’re kind of bummed that no scholarship/FYHP info has come out yet (or he wasn’t invited, can’t tell). Got into UCSD and UCD, so he will probably pick one of those. UCSC was once his top choice, but as he did more research into what he actually wanted to study, he started leaning more towards the other schools. How about you? Will you become a slug?
@MelloG I got accepted as well to UCSC, UCD, Cal Poly SLO and UCSD and waiting on UCSB, UCB and UCLA. I doubt I’d go to any of the UCs besides UCSC. I have one school (University of Puget Sound) that has offered me a scholarship and honors program so that would be the only other school I’m considering. I’m waiting on honors program results from UCSC before I officially decide, but I am definitely leaning toward UCSC!
@HopefulCASenior Congrats! You have some really nice schools to choose from. Hope you get FYHP at SC (or I guess I should call it USP now???).
