One of my friends had REALLY bad college luck... as in didn't get in anywhere. She doesn't want to take a year off. She expressed to me how she wishes she had applied to Smith (I think she would have a very good chance of getting in). Is it possible to apply to transfer to the spring semester for a first year? Or for Spring admission? Are these applications still available?
Any suggestions for my friend?

She won’t be able to apply as a transfer unless she is already enrolled in another college (and I’m pretty sure she would need to be enrolled in a four-year degree granting college, rather than a community college, but I could be wrong about that: transfers, please correct?)

If she does enroll at another college for the fall and wants to transfer to Smith, then according to the transfer website, she can still apply for transfer admission for the spring 2011. If she wants to apply to start as regular first-year student in fall 2011, she still has time do that too, though its too late to apply for admission as sa first year in fall 2010.

But my question is, where did she apply? And does she have the stats to make Smith a realistic option if she didn’t get in to the other schools she applied?

S&P. I PMed you. check your mailbox.

smith does accept Transfers from two year community colleges. they even have articulation agreements with CCs such as Santa Monica and Miami Dade.

your friend can apply as transfer for Spring 2011 if she enrolls somewhere this coming Fall 2010. She has to be US citizen though, because international students can only apply for the Fall Transfer.
