I am an International Student who was just accepted to OSU. So, i don’t really know how the life of the students would be in OSU. Can any alumni or current student share with me their life in OSU? Like friends, lectures, school activities, where do you usually hang out outside the campus, how is Columbus ?
Also, I wonder how do you find the job opportunity offered by OSU? Northeastern is famous for its Co-op program and many of the students can have job pretty quickly after graduate thanks to the Co-op. Does OSU offer something similar or have something equivalent to help students to get internship?
Thank you
@AnnaNg I am an alum and lifelong resident of Columbus. Columbus and its suburbs have 2,000,000 people and is one of the largest cities in the US (#15?), so there is a lot to do here, and the university is a big part of it. There are areas near OSU that are fun to hang out in - the Short North is very artsy and eclectic and Grandview/UA has good restaurants. The Wexner Center for the Arts is right on campus, and the Columbus Museum of Art is downtown - both are world class. Along with the Buckeye teams, we have an MLS team (soccer) and an NHL team (hockey) if you are into sports. Columbus is also a welcoming city, with a very diverse population. As far as job placement, OSU has a good career placement center, plus the alumni network is massive, so there is a lot of help for students.
