Hello, everybody~! I have been admitted to UMN(institute of tech) and OSU (Fisher) for undergraduate(fall 2009). I have been really anxious these days with several questions below:

1.What’s the difference between Columbus and twin cities? weathers, location, people, views, lives, transportatio n…

2.I love twin cities but OSU Fisher ranked higher than Carlson, in Finance. Could you please tell me where should I go if I want to major in Finance.

I’m an international student and really appreciate your warm answers.

Columbus is cold. twin cities are really cold. ohio is fairly desolate, im sure the twin cities have alittle more activity.
columbus has great public transport... dont know about minneapolis.
fisher is a top college...
its really a toss up.... i may lean towards UMN... the city is probably more interesting

All respect to mjbucks, but I'm not sure what he or she is talking about.

Columbus is not desolate. Middle of cornfield Ohio is desolate - Columbus is the capital, it's not New York City but there is plenty to keep you occupied.

It also has terrible, terrible public transporation compared to any reasonable city. Buses are almost completely unreliable, and there is no metro or anything besides the buses. If you're a student, that might not matter to you. The on-campus bus service is well-run, though.

Argh! Columbus is a great city, I am shocked that you would call it desolate! I spent a great deal of time in the Twin Cities and actually there are many similarities between them. They are clean safe friendly places with great people. Ohio State has a large international population and offers an incredible amount of opportunities for its students. The business climate in Columbus is excellent, we are a major test market because you can find any demographic you want in Central Ohio. We are also warmer than the Twin Cities if that matters to you. If Ohio State has the program you want, you should definitely come here. Ohioans are the warmest friendliest people around!

i don't know what mjbucks problem is with columbus... but columbus is far from desolate. Its the 15th largest metropolitan area in the U.S. while twin cities is the 16th so they are pretty similar in that category. I love the city of columbus, from high street, the short north, easton--there's always a ton of stuff to do. As for a degree in business--i would recomend OSU of UMN but if you like UMN better and if it suits you better, the just go there! whatever fits you best :)
