FIT applicants for fall 2018

@CityBF8 hey i applied for film too! they were sent out today :slight_smile:

@lovemocha56 film and media!

if they processed my financial aid stuff is that a good sign? haven’t gotten a letter or email yet though

@krista1230 yep it’s a very good sign!

how do you know if your financial aid has been processed?

you got to my financial aid checklist then choose 218-2019 from the drop down menu, it will show you a checklist of what they have done/haven’t yet and other tabs for financial awards and loans

I got into the Illustrations AAS program for Fall 2018 as an OA. I just recieved my letter today date stamped at 4/4/18. I live on Long Island, so it took 3 buisness days (not including weekends.) Also as a transfer student.

My COA changed last week on Monday or Tueday. I cant recall.

Ive applied before for the Fall 2017 and was wait listed. Got a rejection letter in July of 2017. I reapplied for the fall 2018.

Hope this helps if anyone is wondering.

@ArtMajor03 did it change the first time ?

Everyone is talking about their cost of attendance updating, but I’ve never saw it 0, it always had 18k!!

No it didn’t @MaryannGolokeh

For those that have been accepted do you see a deadline for you to make a decision? When is that?

Does anyone know if FIT performs a transfer credit evaluation, does it mean that you are accepted?

@KayLeaf they require the 150 deposit by May 1st it said on my form.

@rocketchips i have no idea, it said on my form that after the tuition deposit they will release my transfer credits. Does that help?
Edit: just reread your question, im not sure but it could be?

@ArtMajor03 Reason I ask is because I also applied to the Illustration AAS as a transfer, & I called this morning to get an update. Admissions told me that my application was currently being reviewed by the registrar for transfer credits. She also said that usually means that I was accepted but then stated that a decision hadn’t been made on my app yet. I don’t want to get my hopes up too high until I get that envelope! haha

@rocketchips well keep on checking you’re cost of attendance. And if they’re checking on your transfer credits then
 i guess you would be in. Why else would they waste time looking at your transfer credits?

What’s calling them like? Like what do they ask for to get your info? I want to call but I get anxiety when I talk to important people (the people who may or may not be holding my future in their hands) over the phone. I sent an email but I doubt they’ll be getting back to it any time soon, and I’m getting desperate.

@kellude put phone on speaker.
“Hi my name is ___ and im calling to find out if a decision was made on my application?” The person will ask you for your student id have that ready. And then they’ll try to rush you off the phone like its some kind of illuminati secret. Just thank them and wish them a good day after they give you an answer. You might be put on hold first.

@rocketchips I’ve been accepted and have been emailing the office of the registrar and they’ve told me that my transfer credits were entered into my file. I’m assuming they do that so once you accept your admission you are prepared to speak with your advisor in transferring credits and choosing classes and such. Like @ArtMajor03 said you probably have been accepted if they are considering your credits.

@ArtMajor03 Thank you so much!

Anyone apply to the Menswear program still waiting? We are in PA and have not received anything in the mail yet. I know they are flooded daily with calls so I keep holding out hoping we get something in the mail but
like a lot of you
we have not received anything yet!

@kellude i have anxiety when i speak over the phone too. Stay strong! You can do it!
