FIT Fall 2019

@Eightd no change either this year or last. Last year I didn’t even know it was a thing to check for. But I don’t know how much of the COA change is real or speculative.

Oh definitely, it could just be a coincidence.

Hey guys! I’m an international student from Toronto, Canada who applied to Advertising and marketing communications AAS. For those international students who are wondering, I just got my letter today and it was sent to my door by UPS. I was shown as an freshman advanced standing and an outstanding applicant, good luck to everyone who’s still waiting to hear back from FIT!!

@915sun did they send you an email first also congratulations!

No, they didn’t send me an email and thank you!

Is this only me who can not log in on Myfit right now???

@hallieeshayne i’m also a FBM transfer from out of state (mailing address in MN) I go to school in WA. I still haven’t heard anything.

When I called, they said my decision was made and will be sent next week or so. Are the letters that are sent later rejections?! I’m so worried

Does everyone have an amount for estimated family contribution under award overview?

@emilybrown718 I think that number comes from the FAFSA. Someone said that if you did not submit it, you won’t have a number there.

Under application summary, for essay, there’s a date when they received my essay, but there is no note nor status next to it. Is that just me??

@misung2056 I don’t have a note or status next to the essay either, just the date they received it.

@misung2056 I do not have anything for the essay status. Also not for my transcript and TOFEL score. Do you have some note or smth for your transcript or smth else?

I’m considered as independent this year. And on my record fit wants me to fill out paper work and bring it to them. Hoping it’s a good sign cuz I’m still waiting on a letter and I feel like why would they ask for all this if I wanted accepted but who knows.

I have name of my school next to transcript for note
and for toefl test it has the test date and the score for note but have nothing under note for essay.

@915sun what was date on your letter?

@emilybrown718 my estimated family contribution on the site is $91,764?!! Which is like way more than tuition for 4 years and a really werid number lol but also all the other numbers around it are 0

@cassidyls Estimated Family Contribution comes from FAFSA and seems to not have anything to do with FIT and it’s tuition.

From FAFSA website:
Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is a measure of your family’s financial strength and is calculated according to a formula established by law. Your family’s taxed and untaxed income, assets, and benefits (such as unemployment or Social Security) are all considered in the formula. Also considered are your family size and the number of family members who will attend college during the year.

What is this COA people are talking about? where do I locate that? and is this only for people that applied for financial aid or for everyone?

Hi, I’m applied as a transfer student for jewelry design AAS and my COA is zero but my unofficial transcript says they’ve accepted some of my transfer credits. Is this a good sign or is that just there for all transfer applicants. It literally says “credits accepted by institution”
