FIU to FSU? Is it possible in my situation?

Hey guys,

First post, I am a graduating senior wanting to transfer to FSU. I will be attending FIU in the fall and I wanted to know if it is at least possible for me to transfer to FSU in the Spring of 2017. I am pursuing a major of Civil Engineering and I am graduating with a 3.2 weighted GPA 3.0 unweighted with only a couple Honors courses in Chemistry, Trigonometry, and U.S. Government & Economics. Problem is, I have never taken AP, IB, etc. and I don’t have 2 foreign language courses. FSU requires 2 foreign language credits. I plan on taking the CLEP to make up for the classes and earn 3 credits in the process as well. I do meet FSU’s college proficiency skills in reading, writing, and math with my 23 ACT score. I believe I need 12 credits with a 3.0 and above at least to meet their transfer requirements. I really need some info on what to do. Thanks.

You first have to met FSU’s transfer requirements.

Even as a transfer applicant, you need to meet the language requirement.

If you transfer as a freshman or sophomore (before you earn 60 credits), you still have to meet the freshman admission criteria:

Keep in mind that those are minimum requirements. Your best bet is to finish your first two years at FIU, while completing your language requirement. However, you could apply (after meeting the language requirement), and if you don’t get accepted, you can then finish the 60 credits and apply again.

Good Luck!
