Long Post.

Hi guys, I'm a freshman thinking about applying to the FlexMed program at Mt. Sinai. My fall semester gpa was a 3.23 and I'm hoping to get it to at least a 3.5/6 this semester.

The only pre med req i've taken are Bio 1 (in the process of bio 2 and physics 1 now) and I plan to take chem 1 next fall. I know my gpa is low but I still want to apply anyway.
I'm majoring in psychology and probably minoring in Bio, Soc or Africana Studies. I've volunteered in a hospital last year but couldn't this year because the hospitals around campus weren't taking any more. I'm shadowing an OB/GYN this summer and probably volunteering some more. I'm Event Chair for a mentoring program that just parted on campus, I'm on a fundraising committee, I write for a female online college publication and I work in a science lab.

Next year, I'll still be doing all of this, only probably with 2-3 more Exec. Board positions (hopefully). And they are all things that I care about and but energy into, not just resume fillers.

Any thoughts on getting in? Also, are there any more schools that have FlexMed or something similar? I know about early admission programs at Mount and GW but anything specifically for Non sci majors?

Thanks in advance :)
