i haven’t gotten it yet. i sent in all the info by dec 22. when did you apply?

Congratulations !

Thank you and I sent all my applications during October I think

okay well damn did you just get the email tomorrow?

No, I recieved it today <3 I was surprised because I thought I had to wait til March and I called the Care officers and they said they were making decisions last week I think and they sent the emails out today, so I wouldn’t fret maybe u just haven’t received it yet

Not to ask anything of a personal nature, but how much did they offer you and how did they verify that noone from your family has a college degree and that you come from a poor family ?

Congratulations

Also David, she does not have to come from a ‘poor’ family to qualify for CARE.

Actually, I’m not even sure myself bt Care isn’t limited to those who are first generation and I’m kind of I guess what u call an independent student due to the fact that my parents passed away a long time ago about when I was 13 and I became under the care of someone. However, since I have turned 18 I am no longer under guardianship and kind of fending for myself so idk if that played a part.

and Thank you Toby! It’s okay I wasn’t offended by his question

no im fretting…damn.

gotta call them on monday.

Awh, I’m sure it’ll be fine. Best of luck!

Welcome to the Center for Academic Retention & Enhancement (CARE)

Welcome to the official website of the Florida State University Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement, (CARE). This center provides preparation, orientation and academic support programming for students who are among the first in their family to attend college, and for those who otherwise may face unique challenges in college because of economic, cultural or educational circumstances.

I’m not sure whether to be offended or just shake my head, but anyway best of luck to you too David.

So if you face unique circumstances you have to be ‘poor’? Oook…******bag. To the OP, congratulations on your acceptance! Don’t let this guy make your happiness feel less than.

Sent from my PC36100 using CC App

Thank you! No worries here! I am still very happy and honored at this acceptance as FSU was always my first choice :D

Congratulations Spiffy on your acceptance to FSU; I wish you much happiness and success at FSU.

daviddj’s bashing of orphans has to be a new low on the offensiveness scale. Shame on you daviddj.

Congratulations to you spiffyslippers! : ) I’m sure you’ll enjoy the benefits the program offers, and you’ll do great things once your here!

Man, this guy daviddj -.-’ seriously have issues. Don’t let his poor choice of words offend you, it’s unfortunate we have to interact with people like him, but it just makes us realize that not everyone has exactly been raised properly. (Yup, I said it!)

To OP

As I stated, congratulations on your award and in no way am I trying to offend you.
Question -

In addition to waiving your tuition, what about your cost associated with housing / meal plan / books / etc., how does this award affect all these other cost involved with school? & good luck again !
