Florida State Housing & LLCs

Hey!
so i just got my FSU housing assignment. and i have Smith Hall even though i requested others. I was also assigned Bed B? is that the top or the bottom?

what should i know about Smith? How bad is it really?

another quick question would being in the Pre Health Professional Living and Learning Community be recommended? what more should i know about LLCs to make my decision?

thank you(:

Your priority number would be what got you into Smith Hall. No matter where you request, it’s all based on your priority number. Most likely, when your priority number was assigned a space on campus, wherever you requested was full, and as such, it was impossible to assign you a spot in that building.

There’s no specific Bed A or Bed B (or C or D when you get to 3 or 4 person spaces on campus). The A/B/C/D system is simply for Housing to use; it has no bearing on what bed is what. The top or bottom is basically for who gets there first and claims whichever bed, although it is HIGHLY recommended that you get in contact with your roommate prior to move in and discuss who wants what bed- if you both want the top (or bottom), one of you will ever have to compromise or will likely be frustrated come time to move in.

Smith isn’t necessarily bad. It is old however, and could definitely use an update. I know people that lived in Smith and loved it, and a couple even stayed on as RA’s the next year.

As for the LLCs, that’s really going to be up to you. If you really want to live in whichever building a specific LLC is housed in, then you should accept any invitation. However, keep in mind that if you haven’t applied to one, I don’t believe that any of them are still accepting applications.

Really, a lot of what you “need” to know about the LLCs can be learned by reading the LLCs page on FSU Housing’s website: [The Florida State University - University Housing](http://housing.fsu.edu/livlearnsteps.html)
