I am a rising senior, and I have to apply this fall. I really want to go to FSU. I just went on a campus tour and attended an admissions seminar. The admissions officer went over the guidelines for acceptance and I was a bit disheartened because I am worried I will not be seen as a good candidate. I am a Florida resident with a 3.7 gpa. I have taken 3 years of Spanish and a typical report card has all A’s and one B.The range for gpa they told us started at 3.8, so I know I am under qualified on that part. I have 100 hours of community service. I have taken all honors courses and I am taking nearly all AP courses senior year.I will also be in several EC activities after school. I am taking my ACT in September, and my SAT in October. My deadline to apply is January 2016. Long story short, here are my main questions.:
- If I apply in January, will my senior year grades and AP courses count?
2)Is my gpa simply too low to even apply?
3)If I test well on the SAT and ACT, and write a good essay, will the admissions officers possibly overlook the fact that my gpa is on the low side?
Sorry if I seem misinformed, and thanks in advance for any advice:)
