Florida State University Quick Chance? (Will return the favor)

I’m just going to make this quick and not go into too many details for sake of time

Instate Fall 2016
FSU WGPA: 3.8
6 AP classes by junior year
5 senior year AP’s
well over 10 honors classes
SAT: 1980 (second sitting one score)

My EC’s are phenomenal. Won’t go into details it would honestly take too long but my résumé is pretty stellar.

Essay should be pretty good.

SOO HERES THE SCOOP:
I am serious about attending FSU and have visited a few times. The admissions office called me and offered me a $10,000 grant due to my SAT being in the top 25% in conjunction with my EC’s. I met personally with the admissions officer and she said upon acceptance I would be granted the scholarship. However FSU is unaware I got a D in Chinese 3 honors first semester. I have sense retook it and got an A on flvs. On SSAR my guidance counselor told me to just list the class once and as a B average both semesters because she changed my transcript to just give me a B average year final grade versus having a D, C semesters and a retook A for first semester. So essentially on my transcript all that’s represented is a B average final grade for the class. ALSO she told me to answer “no” to having received a D or F on my transcript cause technically the yearly final grade was never a D. I am just a little worried because I don’t want to jeopardize my chances. The rest of my grades junior year were all A’s.

So like am I going to have any trouble or ??? My counselor is experienced and tons of kids from my school attend FSU with lower credentials than me. Is that one grade really a big deal? Especially when I have admissions officers throwing money at me for my EC achievements and SAT?

“also she told me to answer “no” to having received a D or F on my transcript cause technically the yearly final grade was never a D.”

Does FSU ask you about grades on the transcript when they actually have the transcript in the file? That is strange. I don’t understand why they would do that. Have you been asked this question or are you just worrying about it?

You should list the grade however the school lists it on the transcript. That is the official grade. Sounds like school policy allows you to retake a class to improve a grade and you complied with that policy. Unless you believe the counselor is violating policy for you in order to get you a scholarship?

My counselor is unaware of my scholarship.

Here’s the deal; traditionally the class was going to be computated as a semester class however my school had some policy changes and essentially they were allowed to count a few classes as yearly final grades if it benefited the student. So basically I got a D one semester and a C the next. My yearly final grade was then updated to a C. I retook the first semester online and got an A. Therefore they discredited the D and recalculated the average to be a B for the year.

FSU wants to know if you’ve ever gotten a D or F as an official grade. Technically I don’t because my school only credits the yearly final grade, so therefore I answered “no” to the question.

^

Ive never been asked this question I’m just stressing over it cause I’ve seen threads of peop getting deferred or rejected cause of something minor like a made up D before.

FSU only has my SSAR right now and it reflects what’s in the books to the best of my knowledge and with instruction from my counselor.

They’ll only receive my final transcript at the end of my senior year (next May) when I graduate and they confirm I didn’t slack off senior year.
