Fly to Ohio for Job Shadows?

Hello,
I am trying to boost my chances of getting accepted and I am not having too much luck. I am trying to find places to volunteer around where I live etc but I have a different thread about that...
I was looking at all of the personal connection I have with Doctors and the only good one I could think of was a very good family friend/relative over in Ohio. I obviously can't volunteer there, but he can help me set up several job shadows and interviews there with different doctors. Currently I got jack **** for medical related ECs so would it be worth it to fly to Ohio (from the west cost) and try to get several job shadows and interviews in? And is there anything else you could recommend to do while I am over there (if i go)?

Thanks,
Dennis Smirnov

There has GOT to be some activity you can do near home to see if helping people is something you’d like to do. Try volunteering at nursing homes & visiting with patients, at a free clinic, places that help the homeless. Do something in your own community, for your community.

Its ok to go to Ohio if you have the time & $. It will be good to do all of those things there. You will learn a lot. Sorry you can get it done close to home. Perhaps you could volunteer to help around your pediatrician’s office? Then ask him/her for referrals to other docs.

Good Luck!

I think that’s crazy. But go ahead if you’re that desperate.
