Food at Boarding School

Wow! Really? I couldn’t bring my phone their because I lost it then…

@mrnephew You are from sunny Cali? Lucky!! I’m stuck in freezing NJ… We had ice on the grass this morning…

That’s where I’ll be next year… I like cold better than hot, though.

@mrnephew How could you?? Are you saying that you like FREEZING winters better than those amazingly warm winters you have in Cali??

Hehe @bonjourhello‌ I’m gonna have to agree with mrnephew I love the cold in nj  lmao it’s like halfway into spring here and on Monday it was like 80 degrees and then last night it started snowing -.- I cant…

Yeah, haha, I lived in Korea too, and I loved the winters. Warmness is monotonous if it goes on for too long.

I personally always liked the places like New Jerseys- excruciatingly hot & humid summers, warm falls, icy cold winters, and cool springs. So much better than the constant heat or cold.

But yeah getting back into the topic the kent food was like bad I’m not gonna lie. I went to revisit day and I loved it it was so awesome and everyone was super nice and just when I thought everything was perfect I went to lunch and then I gagged cuz the food wasn’t that great. It’s edible and the there was a stir fry machine but ennnh lmao even in the panel at the end of the day we were in the auditorium and then a parent asked how the food was and all the students were skirting around the question cuz they knew the food was bad but hey didn’t want to make kent look bad lol

Uh oh, that’s not awesome.

So Kent is off your list? You are going to have to stay there for the next 4 years…

Yeah, but that doesn’t mean you reject it just because of the food. There’s many different reasons to go, as well. Just eat salad for four years. (I wouldn’t, but who knows, maybe you’ll like it) You can’t have a TERRIBLE salad.

@mrnephew You have never seen or tasted my school’s salads.

exactly what @stargirl3 said-- the salad at my school is awful, i once thought that the cheese was past the expiry date, because it smelled so bad

Presumably they have a sandwich bar (I would hope).

You’d think so. But you never know. I didn’t get to see L’ville’s cafeteria all the way, because I was sticking to my tour guide who never went over there, but I know they have a pizza bar.

And they have to at least have a salad bar, right?

@JerseyGirl999 Worst comes to worst you can eat cereal for four years

Cereal for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner? I don’t think that would be very balanced…

:) and an apple or two. Then you’ve got grains (lots of them), dairy, and fruit! Depending on which type of cereal, maybe proteins. And eat a couple of salads and you’ve got a balanced meal. ;)

ChoatieKid considers a balanced meal one he can hold in the palm of his upturned hand without dropping, like a pizza box. ;)

:) Sounds like me.

My brother graduated years ago from L’Ville. The food was really good then. I can’t imagine it has changed. Plus you are allowed to eat off campus (across the street) anytime, or in P’Town during weekend visits there. Plenty of options. You’ll love it there!

Been debating about whether to chime in…the food at Cate and Thacher benefit from being in the geographical epicenter of amazing produce. Not every meal is great, but the quality overall is way higher than most and better than anything I remember eating at boarding school. I love farmer’s markets and thought I’d seen the best, but until you’ve been to one in SoCal, you can’t fully appreciate how lucky the people are in that part of the country to be so close to all that growing.
