What do you think of the food at Maryland? Are there any noodle houses, Asian food places or Jamba Juice nearby?

There's a resturant called Noodles and Company, which is pretty good, esp. for vegetarians, and there are plenty of random Asian restaurants on about every corner. I don't think there are any Jamba Juices anywhere in the county though. Jamba Juice is JUST starting to spread to this area. However, in a few years, things might be different. There are plenty of awesome restaurants everywhere, from chains to diners. And if you get tired of that stuff, there's DC!

There is a Jamba Juice inside the Whole Foods supermarket in the trendy new downtown area of Silver Spring. I think that it's new. It is probably three or four miles from UMCP and I believe that the UMCP shuttle goes there- have seen bus stop signs there.

There isn't a Jamba Juice on campus, but there are two smoothie places (one in the gym and one in the student union) that make pretty good smoothies with boosts and things in them.

There's a Smoothie King on Rt. 1, but I hear it sucks. Freshie's (or is it Freshen's?) is in the Student Union and it's good but expensive IMO. You can put all sorts of funky stuff like Vitamins and boosters and weight loss crap in your smoothie, which I find pretty cool.

Silver Spring is not very close to campus unless you drive or take a moderately tedious metro ride, but I guess it's worth it if you wanted to go grocery shopping or to the movies.

edit- I guess there's a shuttle, according to onemom...

Chipotle! 'Nuff said.

they're closing down Chipotle

first Wawa, then TerpHub, and now Chipotle

Wait, WHAT? You lie!

That's what I heard from two of my friends. But I haven't found anything about it online so hopefully it's just a rumor.

TONS of food in College Park. I'm here staring at campusfood.com, which has a list of all the places you can get take out from. There are 32 restuarants (including many Asian food places). Then, I know of a few "sit-down" restuarants like Plato's Diner, Noodles and Company, and two or three places to get bubble tea in addition to that.

There is a shuttle to Silver Spring for your Jamba Juice, haha. And of course DC is super accesible, as well.

I guess the demand is high. Diner food is crap.

Diner food was good for the first few weeks of school. It then became REALLY boring and old. Stuff from the Grill is greasy, but they make good quesadillas.

There's Panda Express, Chik fil a, McDonalds, Sbarro, Steak Escape, Taco Bell, and the smoothie place in Stamp. They're really good. You can also order food from the site umcp11 mentioned.

Let's be honest. The DINER and South Campus Dining Hall only get like a C ->C- rating. They have the same food every week on a rotated schedule. Sprouts sucks, because they won't put meat or chicken in your stir fly cause of all the annoying Vegans. One good thing is that you can use your dining points at Adele's. Also, the whole focus point schedule is a bit annoying, I must say.

There is much better food in town. I find myself ordering from D.P. Dough's, CluckU, and Shanghai all the time. On Rte 1, there's so many choices. Potbelly, Noodles, and Applebees are some of my favorites. Applebees has 1/2 off appetizer after 9pm, which is great for the nights your hungover, :P.

Also, we just got a Fractured Prune on Route 1! Sooo good.

BruinsJEW-- still hungover at 9 pm? I'm impressed :)
