On the USNA forum there has been a LOT of discussion recently about the poor quality of the food service. Was curious to hear from those currently associated with WP about your experience with the food service.

I can tell you that the food was way better at SLS than it was at NASS, and the cadre had nothing negative to say about the food/food servicepeople. Just my experience though.

I do not think any West Point parent is interested in participating in the hysterical lunacy currently found on the Naval Academy forum. Life is not perfect at West Point. However, the imperfections are not meant to be a topic of discussion on a public forum. Our cadets deal with problems through the chain of command. Life can be tough at West Point...but it is not for the parents to second guess the policies of the administration. The Cadets, like Midshipmen, are members of the military. Our children are being trained as soldiers while receiving a first rate education. The world they must deal with as officers upon graduation is brutal and dangerous. The rigors they face now will help them cope with and adjust to the life they soon face in the military. Isn't that the purpose of each of the Academies?

You, P-piper are most Awesome! touche'!

My plebe likes the food at West Point. No complaints in that department.

I've had the opportunity to eat with the cadets during the academic year - it is amazing that 4000+ can be fed with such efficiency.

Considering how many cadets the mess staff have to feed at every meal, I think they do a fantastic job. For optional dinners we get served buffet style and it still has some kinks, but overall the food service is great.

The food's awesome here, the mess hall workers are great from my experiences so far. And I love how you can take a gallon or two of gatorade to your room after the meal.

Guy we know at WP likes the food and it is ample.

haha. Why people care so much about Food Service, when they were sent or went to academies to be prepared to serve the country? nonsense..

Nobody was sent to the Academies, everyone volunteered.......by the way, Mitch's @ USAFA was very good during PW.

My son has no complaints and also carries back food items for the room. i.e. during PW he carried back a bag of tostitoes and Cheese dip. An excellent mid-night snack to put on the calories burned off during the days activities...

Oooo-Rah for P-Pipers comment "hysterical lunacy" at the "other" forum. Real pieces of work over there. Glad I always check on my Army buds here to find the sane ones.

Oh yeah: Go Falcons, Beat Army

Our son is a Yuk. He says the food is predicable but good.

I can eat anything they put in my face (if i am hungry enough, and i know i will be). It is my concern with cutting a pie into 7, 9, or 11 equal pieces.

aspen,

yuk?

for p-piper: if you knew hat you were talking about, you might be taken seriously, but obviously you don't, so why not just stick to WooPoo, or better yet to air farce

MOT--I think Aspen wants to relive the last two years :))))

Mooooo!

Another senior moment. Seems like time keeps passing faster and faster.

You're right, as usual. My son is a Cow.

Funny how the older the kids get, the faster the senior moments appear. I know my cow would not like it, but I wouldn't mind her being back in plebe year. I want to go to PPW again.
