Food technology for my bachelor degree, good idea? better than engineering/business?

So i have been trying to figure out what i should major in for over a year now... didnt take a year off, moved to another country so my whole year got wasted by itself. Anyway, everyone tells me that i should study what I'm interested in and honestly? The only thing i'm interested in is music! But studying that is not an option for me, i need more security than a degree in music can provide.. i've done research on Business econ/management, studied notes but really business has never been my thing! Never studied it officially in school, always more on the science side.

I'm really good at bio math and i guess chemistry, but physics not so much! though i managed a good grade in all of them, physics is too much a headache... so that rules out most engineering degrees for me.
anyway, food technology is one of the best options i have but will it land me a fairly good career? because if it wont, i might as well study engineering (mechatronics/electrical/telecommunication) and make life difficult for me in the short run because for me its not a matter of interest, its a matter of applying my potential to the fullest and not regretting the time i spent chasing just any degree because once i've completed my education, i can still pursue music so its very important i get the right education and have a strong back up plan. I liked physics in my o levels but a level physics was so tough I couldnt stand it. maybe that changes you know? because somehow, Math remains my favourite..
Anyway, i just wanna know if food technology (fairly easier than engineering) has enough vacant jobs that are also well paid which makes it a 'worth it' degree. Also, isn't engineering a bad idea in the future unless you are really good? please correct me if I'm wrong..
