Football Games

I just bought my season tickets for UCLA football...I'm excited! I love football. Anyways, I was wondering if it's possible or practical to take a family member or friend to a game, and if it is, what's the best way to go about it. I thought about using a friend's season ticket, except that I read somewhere that they put those directly on your card, so I guess that doesn't work. Any input? I'd like to take my dad and maybe a friend or two to a game sometime, I just don't know how well that would work out.

You can buy a guest ticket, I don't remember how much they are, but your limited to 1 per game. Also, your right, the tickets go right on your bruin card.

How do most people get to the games? Does UCLA arrange buses to transport students from campus to the stadium?

Guest tickets are sold at the regular ticket price (which I believe is $16 a game?... it's in that neighborhood) and you can buy one per student ticket. Of course, if you have more than one guest you can get a friend to help you bring them in. I've had some good times taking the fam out to UCLA football and basketball games. Even with the old paper ticket system you had to have a student ID to get into games with a student ticket, so no can go with that.

UCLA has busses to the Rose Bowl. They cost $2 I believe and keeps you from tailgating but it really simplifies the transportation situation. Traffic can be a nightmare leaving a big game but at least when you take the bus you don't need to worry about the drive (or parking costs).

UCLA draws decently well to its football games. The Rose Bowl is a cavernous stadium (90,000+ capacity) so a sell out is a huge thing. There is usually a game or two that occur at the Rose Bowl before school starts, during which the student section is pretty lightly filled. This year it's Utah and Rice before school starts. The only game that's a guaranteed sellout is USC, though Cal usually draws pretty well too.

Hopefully we have another great year next year (and also actually challenge SC for once). Last year was real fun with all the comebacks, especially the one against Cal in the Rose Bowl. We lost a few stars but we got Big Ben Olson stepping in, and hopefully our defense improves (it couldn't possibly be worse).

UCLA will beat USC and Cal this year won't they?

Of course we will. Then again I said that last year too, and I was only half right (my success rate is getting better, 2 years ago we went 0 for 2 against them, last year 1 for 2, so according to the growth chart we will beat them both this year and beat them an astonishing 3 out of 2 times in 2007).

Seriously though, our season depends on how much the defensive line can improve. They were terrible last year and put the whole D in a bad position, this year we have bulked up and also brought in new recruits, so if the D can come up to a respectable level we should have enough offense to carry us.

go ask a marching band member who's parents live in norcal or whatever. band members get 2 free tickets for their family (or whoever they want to give it to)... or at least this was the policy when i was in it :)

that's my insider info for you haha

Thanks for the responses!
