Football recruitment wish list

Ok, so we are 3 months away from signing day. I have three players I really want. They are:

Dorial Green-Beckham (WR)
Stefon Diggs (WR)
Andrus Peat (OL)
Greg Garmon (RB)
Wes Brown (RB)
Darius Hamilton (DE)
Nelson Agholor (DB)

If we can get just three of those guys, we will have a very strong class.

I don’t think we will end up with any of those guys. the coaches aren’t going to take another D-End unless it’s Adolphus Washington. Steffon Diggs and Green Beckham have never visited campus and currently have top lists that don’t include Michigan. The coaches cooled on Greg Garmon a while ago and he canceled a scheduled visit.

As far as taking another DB, our best chance at an elite player is landing Yuri Wright. For WR, most likely some combination of Jordan Payton, Amara Darboh, Jehu Chesson, or a couple of other guys who have shown interest.

Also, Zack Banner would be a huge get at OL. He would also play BBall. He is 6’ 9" 305 and a freakish athlete.

No matter what happens this is a tremendous class ;)

I want a medical redshirt for Gardner

Gardner is going to be a monster, but you might be indifferent once you see Shane Morris. He’s a 2013 Michigan commit who might be the best QB in H.S, already.

Kidding aside of course we want the redshirt for Gardner, I think he’s going to be a special QB. The future of the QB position is very bright and locked up for the next 5 years or so.

Thanks for your input abrknight. I am out of touch with football recruiting these days. Too bad about Green-Beckham. I really wanted a tall and physical WR. Michigan has not had one of those in a while, and at 6’5", 220 LBS, he definitely fit the bill. Still, Jordan Payton or Amara Darboh would be good. I am not familiar with Jehu Chesson.

Yuri Wright and Adulphus Washington would be very good too, particularly Wright as we have a real need at CB.

Zach Banner would also be huge (pun intended).

Regardless, I agree this is going to be a great class, arguably one of the top 5 in the nation.

Quick Update: Word on the street is Stefon Diggs and the coaching staff have renewed interest as Stefon has picked up his grades and scheduled a visit. Also, Michigan is now listed in Stefon’s top 5.

While I think he is still a bit of a long shot, getting him on campus with an official visit is huge step in the right direction.

How about the return of Denard Dorsey?

Well, Demar Dorsey is a great story. He seems to have really turned his life around, but I’m not sure Michigan is a realistic option at this point. Michigan has taken VERY few JUCO transfers in the past and a lot went down in the process of his initial denial to the University.

Would be pretty awesome if he did fight his way back to Michigan though.

I wanna see him dancing and stuff on the sidelines haha.

It’ll remind me of the good times as a Cleveland fan when Lebron and the Cavs were easily the most entertaining team on and off the court.
